Event 1	Union Minister for Commerce & Industry and Civil Aviation, Shri Suresh Prabhu will Launch Phase II of District Development Plan for Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg This is part of the pilot project of DIPP, Ministry of Commerce & Industry whereby six districts have been identified, in order to accelerate their annual growth rate by 2%-3%. The strategy is to harness niche strengths in areas such as geographical indications, services and skills. IIM Lucknow and NCAER have been selected to carry out the exercise, in two phases, to be completed in one year. Reports of Phase I, formulation of plan in a consultative manner, have been submitted. Phase II, comprising mentoring and handhohlding district administration for plan implementation, is being launched tomorrow, for Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg.
