'મારી દીકરી સમૃદ્ધ દીકરી' campaign under Sukanya Samriddhi Yojna was launched by Shri Devusinh Chauhan, Hon’ble Minister of State for Communication at Silvassa on  16-06-2022. This scheme is farsightedness of our Hon’ble Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji who is committed to the economic empowerment of Girl Child. This unique scheme is path breaking initiatives towards providing social security at a very nominal cost to the millions of girl child. As on 01-08-2022, total 11.09 lacs Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts stands in various Post Offices of Gujarat, out of which, 2.33 lacs Sukanya Samriddhi Accounts have been opened during the current F.Y 2022-23.

Sukanya Samriddhi Account can be opened in the name of a girl child at any time from her birth till she attains the age of 10 years with a minimum deposit of Rs.250/- and thereafter any amount in multiple of Rs.50/- can be deposited.

A maximum of Rs. 1,50,000 can be deposited in a financial year. Tax benefit is available under section 80C of Income-tax Act. For more information or to open a Sukanya Samriddhi account, contact your nearest post office.
