Shri Thawarchand Gehlot E-Inaugurates ADIP & RVY Camp at Bilaspur, Chhatisgarh for distribution of 3880 Aids & Assistive Devices to 1785 Pre-identified beneficiaries
Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Shri Thaawarchand Gehlot e-inaugurated through virtual mode a mega camp for free of cost distribution of assistive aids and appliances under the ADIP Scheme (Assistance to Disabled Persons) & RVY (Rastriya Vayoshri Yojna ) of Government of India organized at Prarthana Bhawan,Jal Sansadhan Parisar ,Bilaspur, Chhatisgarh today. Shri Arun Kumar Sao, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) along with other dignitaries graced the event. The Camp was organized by ALIMCO, under DEPwD, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India in close association with District Administration, Social Justice Dept. Bilaspur
A total of 1785 pre identified beneficiaries with different kind of disabilities under ADIP & RVY will be provided with 3880 numbers of aids and assistive devices by ALIMCO with the value of approx. Rs.204.17 Lakhs under the ADIP & RVY scheme of Government of India. During today’s camp, only a 100 beneficiaries & Sr. citizens were called due to COVID-19 protocols. These beneficiaries were pre identified during the assessment camps conducted in Bilaspur district between September & December, 2019.
Various assistive aids and appliances for different kind of disabilities will be distributed to identified beneficiaries includes 201 –Battery Operated Motorized Tricycles,250-Tricycles, 183-Wheelchairs, 750-Crutches Axilla, 721-Walking Stick, 03-Rolators for Orthopedically Impaired persons, 648-Behind The Ear - Hearing Aid machines and 98-Smart cane,45-Smart Phone,52-Daisey Player ,21-Braille Cane & Braille Kit, Slate for Visually Impaired beneficiaries, 44-MSID kit and 02-CP chairs (Cerebral Palsy),17-Cell Phone,05-A.D.L. Kits, 359-Spectacles,223-Dentures, 04-Tripod, for children’s with special needs. 249 number of Prosthesis and Orthosis will also be distributed in the camp.
The purpose of organizing such camps is to provide direct benefit of the government run schemes in a transparent way and also to generate awareness about the various other programs and initiative under taken by the government of India for the Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) & Sr.Citizens across the nation.
