Infrastructural Projects under GKRA

Garib Kalyan Rozgar Abhiyaan (GKRA) was announced on 20.06.2020 for 125 days i.e., up to 22.10.2020. The Abhiyaan was formulated in identified districts spread over six States namely Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Odisha. Indian Railways laid emphasis on execution of infrastructure projects like doubling of railway line, electrification of line, construction of new line, construction of Bridge / Road over Bridge, Signaling works etc. in identified districts under Garib Kalyan Rozgar Abhiyaan. Railways have spent total `2968 crore and generated 14,14,604 no. of mandays during the Abhiyaan.

 

The following infrastructure Railway works have been completed in the State of Madhya Pradesh which would help in socio-economic development of the State:

  • About 10 km of New Railway Line, 227 km of Doubling and 157 km of Guage Conversion of Railway Line have been commissioned in Madhya Pradesh in the Financial Years 2019-20 & 2020-21 till date.
  • 29 no. of Road over Bridges and 79 no. of Road under Bridges have been completed in the Financial Years 2019-20 & 2020-21 till date.

Ministry of Railways through its Public Sector Undertaking have also undertaken other Socio Economic activities in year 2019-2020 as under:

  1. RailTel is operating one Digital Learning Centre in Satna District of Madhya Pradesh. RailTel has also provided free Wi-Fi services at Bir Railway station near Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh.

 

  1. IRCON has imparted skill development program (vocational training in stitching and tailoring) to 60 underprivileged women at Guna district of Madhya Pradesh. IRCON has also conducted Skill development training for 90 candidates in two trades – Basic Computer and Staff Employment tailor at Khari district of Jammu & Kashmir.
  2. DFCCIL has carried out skill interventions in schools to improve the employable skills and physical fitness of the students, installed India Mark-II hand pump with submersible pump and water tankin plain area of Mirzapur district, provided hand pumps and solar lights in Kodarma district of Jharkhand, constructed toilet blocks in schools and installed computers in schools in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. Further, Smart Class accessories have been provided in Chandauli district of Uttar Pradesh and Mewat district of Haryana.

Under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA) scheme, total 10084 no. of railway works have been identified in the State of Madhya Pradesh, out of which 2551 no. of railway works have been completed and 2512 no. of works are ongoing. The total expenditure till date is Rs. 91.46 cr.

 

In the district of Satna, 106 no. of railway works have been identified under MGNREGA scheme, out of which 32 no. of railway works have been completed and 41 no. of works are ongoing. The total expenditure till date is Rs. 91.3 lakh.

 

District-wise details of skill training to Act Apprentices are not maintained by Railways. However, total 12810 no. of Apprentices have been empanelled/ trained in all Zonal Railways and Railway Production Units under Apprentice Act, 1961 in the financial year 2019-20, including 900 no. of Apprentices in Jabalpur Division of West Central Railway. Satna district comes under Jabalpur Division.
