Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, observes Special Campaign 2.0 for Swachhata in Government Offices and Disposal of Pending Matters from 2nd October to 31st October, 2022

With the aim of Swachhata at workplace, the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, along with its Attached/Subordinate Offices/Autonomous Body - Controller General of Accounts, Chief Adviser Cost, Central Pension Accounting Office, Arun Jaitley National Institute of Financial Management actively participated in the Special Campaign 2.0.

The Government of India undertook the Special Campaign 2.0 for Swachhata in Government Offices and Disposal of Pending Matters from 2nd October to 31st October, 2022. The objective of the Campaign was to identify and timely disposal of pending matters/references; to review existing rules and procedures to reduce compliance burden; record management; cleanliness of government offices including space management; etc.

During the preparatory phase of the Campaign from 14th to 30th September 2022, pendency under various categories viz. references from Member of Parliament, Inter-Ministerial References, public grievances/appeals, cleanliness sites, files that require review, etc. were identified.

Each and every official was engaged to achieve the tasks identified during the preparatory phase. With the all round efforts, the Department of Expenditure has got success in disposing off most of the identified pendency and maintaining cleanliness in the Office. 

During the Special Campaign period from 2nd to 31st October, 2022, out of 124 references received from Members of Parliament, 120 have been answered; comments on 27 out of 29 Inter-Ministerial References (Cabinet Note) have been given and against 52 Public Grievances and Appeals, 49 have been disposed off. The redundant scrap material and obsolete items have also been identified for disposal. Through sale of e-waste and furniture items, a revenue of Rs. 2,18,200/- has been generated.    

The Department of Expenditure maintains and monitors cleanliness in the Office premises on regular basis. Apart from this, as part of Special Campaign 2.0, the Department of Expenditure and its attached/ subordinate offices/ autonomous body  undertook one day Special Cleanliness Drive on 14th October, 2022 inside and outside the Office premises.
