Under Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National Ayush Mission (NAM), Ministry of Ayush has approved 12500 Ayushman Arogya Mandir (Ayush) [AAM(Ayush)] erstwhile known as Ayush Health and Wellness Centres by upgrading existing Ayush Dispensaries/Sub Health Centres as per the proposals received through State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs) from States/UTs for providing holistic healthcare to the community through different Ayush interventions. The State/UT-wise status of approved AAM (Ayush) is furnished at Annexure.
Under NAM, the components for setting up of upto 50/30/10 bedded integrated Ayush Hospitals, upgradation of exclusive standalone Ayush Hospitals and Ayush Public Health Programmes inter-alia are having provision for contractual deployment of Ayush doctors. State/UT Governments may avail financial assistance by submitting suitable proposals through SAAPs as per NAM guidelines. Further, under Central Sector Scheme of Ayurgyan, there is provision of financial assistance for Capacity Building & Continuing Medical Education (CME) in Ayush for conducting training program for Ayush personnel.
Under NAM, there is provision of financial assistance for establishment new Ayush colleges in the States where availability of Ayush teaching institutions is inadequate in Government Sector and Infrastructural development of existing Ayush Under-Graduate colleges & existing Ayush Post-Graduate colleges. The State/UT Governments may avail financial assistance by submitting suitable proposals through SAAPs as per NAM guidelines.
There are third party review and also NABH assessment besides visit by the Central team in different States/UTs to review the implementation progress of different activities/services being provided by established AAM (Ayush) which were approved with an objective to establish a holistic wellness model based on Ayush principles and practices focusing on preventive, promotive, curative, rehabilitative healthcare by establishing integration with existing public healthcare system to provide informed choice to the needy public by making Ayush services available in a team based approach.
