PROMOTION OF AYUSH-BASED IMMUNITY PROGRAMMES

Ministry of Ayush launched a nationwide campaign in 2021 to distribute its proven poly herbal Ayurvedic drugs AYUSH 64 and Sidha drug Kabasura Kudineer for the benefit of the vast majority of out of hospital COVID patients in response to the second surge of COVID-19 infection in the country.

Under Central Sector Scheme for “Promotion of Information, Education and Communication (IEC) in AYUSH”, the Ministry undertakes various activities for promotion and creation of awareness amongst the citizens about the efficacy of the Ayush systems, their cost effectiveness and the availability of Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani & Homoeopathy drugs services and other solutions by utilizing various communication channels for this purpose.

Ministry of Ayush is also implementing Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National Ayush Mission (NAM) through Sate/UT Governments and providing financial assistance to them as per the proposals submitted through their respective State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs). Under NAM, States/UTs are implementing different activities like supply of essential drugs/medicines to the patients, Public Health Outreach Activity, School Health Programme, AYUSH Gram etc. to promote holistic treatment under Ayush so as to improve the general health and immunity. The details relating to financial assistance released by Ministry of Ayush under the National Ayush Mission to various State Governments/ Union Territories during last three financial years are given in Annexure.

The implementation of these schemes is monitored under the Output Outcome Monitoring Framework (OOMF) and the effectiveness of these programmes is reflected in improved health indicators of the targeted beneficiaries under these schemes.
