(a) to (d): Animal Husbandry is a state subject and the assessment and establishment of veterinary infrastructure and staffing is done by the respective State depending on their requirement, based on the parameters like geographical status, disease epidemiology, animal profile etc. As per information received from State Government of Uttar Pradesh, the State is taking every possible step to strengthen the veterinary infrastructure by creating new hospitals, breed improvement through artificial insemination using the semen of pedigreed bulls and sex sorted semen, making availability of fodder by procuring Napier grass root slips from Government farms and providing them to farmers and pasture land tagged with cow shelters; and disease control through free of cost vaccination against various diseases. For development and promotion of indigenous cow breeds (Sahiwal, Gir, Tharparkar, Gangatiri etc.) and milk production enhancement, Uttar Pradesh Government has started the Nand Baba Dugdh Mission (NBDM), under which 3 (three) schemes are running -
1. Nandini Krishak Samridihi Yojna : Project of 25 indigenous cattle costing Rs.62.50 lacs with a provision of subsidy of 50%.

3. Mukhyamantri Swadeshi Gau Sanvardhan Yojna: Project of 2 indigenous cattle with a provision of subsidy of 40%. upto maximum of Rs.80,000/-
