Sarvekshana Journal – 120th Issue Released

The National Statistical Systems Training Academy (NSSTA), under the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI), has released the 120th issue of Sarvekshana, its bi-annual journal on Official Statistics.

Sarvekshana serves as a premier platform for dissemination of research based on data from the National Sample Survey (NSS), Official Statistics, and related analytical studies. The journal is widely recognized for its academic rigor and policy relevance, and is circulated among data users, researcher, central ministries, departments, and reputed national and international institutions.

The current issue comprises four technical papers covering diverse aspects of official statistics. These papers are namely, “Understanding changes in access to inpatient care in India between 1995-96 and 2017-18 - Evidence from the National Sample Survey”, “A Neural Network approach to identify features associated with multidimensional poverty in rural India”, “Measuring Time Poverty: Establishing a threshold and Analyzing its Determinants for the Indian Population” and “Consumption of food by Indian households and ICMR-recommended quantity – An analysis based on HCES 2022-23 data”. All papers have undergone a rigorous peer-review and editorial process to ensure quality, accuracy, and relevance.

Apart from these four papers, the report also includes the highlights of the two reports on “Survey on Household Consumption Expenditure: 2023-24” and “Nutritional Intake in India:2022-23 & 2023-24” released by NSO, MoSPI, India.  

The journal continues to contribute to strengthening the statistical system by promoting research and evidence-based policymaking, aligned with the Ministry’s commitment to enhancing the quality and dissemination of official statistics.
