Atal Innovation Mission, under NITI Aayog, has marked its name into the prestigious India Book of Records for the maximum number of students participating in tinkering activity in a day.

On August 12, 2025, a staggering 4,73,350 students from 9,467 schools across the country came together to design and build their own DIY vacuum cleaners. Guided by a live, step-by-step instructional session streamed online, this hands-on initiative not only sparked creativity but also deepened scientific understanding and peer collaboration.

 

The record was officially confirmed on August 30, 2025, and will be formally honoured on September 15, 2025, by Asia Book fof Record and India Book of Record.

 

Atal Innovation Mission will receive this award in presence of Hon’ble Adjudicator
