Solid and Liquid Waste Management in Rural Areas

Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen) [SBM (G)] Phase-II is being implemented during the period from 2020-21 to 2024-25 with the focus to sustain Open Defecation Free (ODF) status and to cover all villages with Solid and Liquid Waste Management (SLWM). State/UT-wise details of progress achieved regarding SLWM, as reported by the States/UTs on the online Integrated Management Information System (IMIS) of SBM (G), are given at Annexure-1.
SBM (G) is a demand driven scheme. Hence, fixed State/UT-wise allocation of funds is not made under the programme. The details of Central share funds released under SBM (G) during the last 3 years, State/UT-wise, are given at Annexure-2.
This Information was given by the Minister of State for Jal Shakti, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel in a written reply in Rajya Sabha today.
