      All arrangements have been completed for final and seventh phase of Lok Sabha Elections in West Bengal tomorrow. Elections will be held at Nine Parliamentary seats of the State at Dum Dum, Barasat, Basirhat, Jaynagar, Mathurapur , Diamond Harbour, Jadavpur, Kolkata Dakshin and Kolkata Uttar. Bye- Elections at Baranagar Assembly constituency will also take place tomorrow. Voting will be taken from 7a.m. to 6 p.m. tomorrow. Polling Officials have already reached their destinations. Poll workers deputed in the far-flung areas in Sundarbans, Sandeshkhali and riverine region of the State used steamer, boats to reach to their Polling booths.

                Altogether 1 crore 63 lakhs 40 thousands 345 voters are eligible to cast their franchise. 124 candidates are in the fray in nine constituencies. Maximum number of 17 candidates are contesting from Kolkata Dakshin while 16 from Jadavpur, 15 each from Basirhat,Kolkata Uttar, 14 from Dum Dum, 12 from Barasat,Mathurapur and Diamond Harbour and remaining 11 candidates from Jaynagar Parliamentary seats while 8 candidates are contesting for Bye-Elections at Baranagar Assembly constituency.

      17 thousands 470 polling stations have been set up in nine Parliamentary constituencies of which 2 thousand 791 Polling stations will be managed by the women polling personnel. 3 thousand 748 Polling stations have been identified as critical while 72 has been declared as Model Polling stations.

     Election Commission has taken all necessary steps to ensure free and fair voting. 967 companies of Central Para-Military forces have been deployed for peaceful conduct of voting. Besides over 33 thousands State Police personnel are also being engaged.

Commission is keeping close eye on the Election process in sensitive areas like Sandeshkhali, Baruipur, Diamond Harbour areas. Strict vigil has been kept along Indo-Bangladesh Border. Arrangements for webcasting for monitoring the voting process have also been kept at all Polling stations. Voters can cast their franchise by showing the documents at Polling booths as suggested by the Election Commission. Provisions for shelters to the voters have also been made at polling booths in view of possible downpour tomorrow.
