The Government of India, Ministry of Labour & Employment, Labour Welfare Organization, Chennai Region grants Financial Assistance for education to the wards of Beedi / Lime Stone & Dolomite Mines / Cine workers, every year, who are studying in Class I to Professional Degree ranging from Rs.1000/- to Rs.25,000/- depending upon the standard, the student is studying in / Course the student is pursuing.

The Government of India has robustly developed the process of submission of Scholarship Applications by the aspirants through One Time Registration (OTR) with effect from the academic year 2024-25. The Aadhaar of the students is mandatory for successful completion of One Time Registration and the financial assistance shall be disbursed to the beneficiaries exclusively through the Aadhaar Payment Bridge (APB) system and not by adhering to the traditional bank account payment in vogue.

By intent of this press note and with a view to ensure extensive publicity amongst the interested party concern, it is informed to all the stakeholders Viz. the Students, Educational Institutions, Institute Nodal Officers, Head of the Institutions, District / State Nodal Officer etc. in Tamil Nadu to ensure 100% completion of One Time Registration process of the students so as to enable them to submit their online applications on National Scholarship Portal while seeking financial assistance under the Scholarship Scheme meant for the wards of Beedi / Lime Stone & Dolomite Mines / Cine workers in the state of Tamil Nadu.
