Student Induction-Orientation Programme "DEEKSHARAMBH-2026" was held at National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), Gandhinagar on 6th August, 2026. Hon'ble Mr. Justice Rajesh Bindal (Retd.), Former Judge, Supreme Court of India, was the Chief Guest of function. Notably, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajesh Bindal (Retd.), Former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, has been appointed as Emeritus Professor at the National Forensic Sciences University. This distinguished appointment, conferred by Padma Shri Awardee Dr. J.M. Vyas, Vice Chancellor of NFSU, reflects the University’s commitment to integrating judicial wisdom with academic excellence. ‘Forensic Justice Bulletin’ was released by Chief Guest.

Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajesh Bindal (Retd.), Former Judge of the Supreme Court of India, addressed the gathering on the importance of premier educational institutions like the National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU). He emphasized that NFSU stands as the world’s only university of its kind, having trained officers in forensic education from 70 nations. This remarkable global participation highlights the University’s unparalleled role in advancing forensic science and justice delivery through international capacity building.
Justice Bindal further noted that NFSU reflects the spirit of a “Mini Bharat,” where students from every state converge to pursue forensic education. This diverse representation reinforces NFSU’s vision of inclusivity, academic excellence, and its growing stature as a national and global hub for forensic learning.
He emphasized that the role of forensic scientists has become the need of the hour, as their expertise is vital in serving the nation and to establish a dedicated Forensic Science Service, on par with prestigious national services such as the IAS and IPS. He urged the students to apply a scientific mindset in the collection of evidence, thereby strengthening the justice delivery system.
Padma Shri Awardee Dr. J.M. Vyas, Vice Chancellor of NFSU, stated that Justice Bindal’s association will strengthen the University’s vision of advancing forensic education and research, while enriching academic discourse with his profound legal expertise and experience from the nation’s highest court.
Hon’ble Dr. Justice K.J. Thaker, Hon’ble Chairperson-Gujarat State Human Rights Commission; Prof. (Dr.) S.O. Junare, Campus Director, NFSU-Gandhinagar; Prof. (Dr.) Purvi Pokhariyal, Campus Director, NFSU-Delhi and Prof. (Dr.) Naveen Kumar Chaudhary, Campus Director, NFSU-Goa also present on the dais and delivered their speech on this occasion.
During the function, Deans and Associate Deans of various schools of NFSU, Faculty members, Staff members and students of NFSU were present during the event.
