Renovated Post Office Buildings in Nagpur Inaugurated; Revamped Dak Sewa and Dak MITRA Apps Launched

The renovated buildings of Shankar Nagar and Ayodhya Nagar Post Offices under Nagpur City Division were inaugurated virtually today as part of a national programme of the Department of Posts. The Revamped Dak Sewa App and Revamped Dak MITRA App were also launched on the occasion.
The national programme was attended by Hon’ble Union Minister for Communications and Minister for Development of North Eastern Region Shri Jyotiraditya M. Scindia and Hon’ble Minister of State for Communications and Rural Development Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani. Secretary (Posts) Shri Subrata Das, Director General (Postal Services) Shri Jitendra Gupta and senior officers of the Department of Posts were also present.
The renovated Shankar Nagar and Ayodhya Nagar Post Offices have been developed under the Jan Seva Connect Project, with upgraded infrastructure and improved customer facilities. The renovated post offices will provide postal, savings bank, Postal Life Insurance and other services in a modern, convenient and customer-friendly environment.
At Shankar Nagar Post Office, the programme was attended by Smt. Neeta Rajendra Thakare, Mayor, Nagpur Municipal Corporation; Smt. Shivani Dani, Chairperson, Standing Committee, Nagpur Municipal Corporation; Shri Yogesh Pachpore, Corporator; Shri Sudhir Jakhere, Director, Postal Services, Nagpur Region; Shri Vishwesh Mankar, Assistant Superintendent of Post Offices, Nagpur City Division; and Shri Avinash Talvekar, Postmaster, Shankar Nagar Post Office. The dignitaries inspected the renovated premises and reviewed the facilities provided for customers.
At Ayodhya Nagar Post Office, Hon’ble MLA from Nagpur South Shri Mohan Mate was the Chief Guest. Smt. Simran Kaur, DPS, Headquarters, Maharashtra Circle, was also present. Shri Hamilpur Sharad Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, Nagpur City Division, Nagpur, delivered the welcome address and briefed the gathering about the renovation and modernization initiatives of the Department of Posts.
Smt. Simran Kaur highlighted the Department’s initiatives for modernization and expansion of digital postal services, including the facilities available through the Revamped Dak Sewa and Dak MITRA Apps. The inauguration plaque of the renovated Ayodhya Nagar Post Office was unveiled, followed by inspection of the upgraded counters and facilities by the Chief Guest and officials.
The renovated post offices, along with enhanced digital services, will further improve accessibility, convenience, transparency and customer experience for citizens.
The programme was organized by Nagpur City Division, Department of Posts, and was attended by postal officers and employees, public representatives, customers and local citizens.
