Department of Rural Development to participate in Special Campaign 6.0 for promoting cleanliness and disposal of pending matters


Various Activities Planned from 2nd to 31st October, 2026 to further institutionalize cleanliness and reduce pending matters

Special Campaign 5.0 saw 100% disposal by the department in IMC matters, state and PMO grievances disposal and 99% in public grievances

As per the guidelines issued by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), the Department of Rural Development in the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India is participating in the Special Campaign 6.0 from 2nd – 31st October, 2026 for cleanliness and disposal of pending matters. The campaign is aimed at further institutionalize cleanliness and reduce pending matters in the Department including the autonomous bodies / organizations under it.

Last year, the Department of Rural Development undertook various activities under the Special Campaign 5.0 (2 – 31 October, 2025) with special focus on disposal of pending Matters, viz. MP references, State References, PMO References, Public Grievances, Public Grievance appeals and IMC matters. At the end of the campaign, the Department was able to achieve 100% disposal of PMO references, 100% of State References, 100% of IMC matters, 99 % of Public Grievances, 96% MP references and 80% of Public Grievances Appeals. The Department had utilised this opportunity to ensure de-cluttering of office space, cleanliness of common areas and upkeep of office rooms. The campaign's accomplishments were also uploaded on the SCDPM Portal of DARPG. The efforts under the Special Campaign were regularly posted on social media to promote awareness about the campaign.

The efforts under the Special Campaign 5.0 were continued beyond the Special Campaign 5.0 period, from November, 2025 to August, 2026. The highlights of the achievements in terms of disposal of pending references during this period are as follows:

i. MP references disposed – 124

ii. Parliament Assurances disposed – 32

iii. IMC References disposed – 112

iv. State Govt. References disposed – 62

v. Public Grievances disposed – 55,256

vi. PMO References disposed – 13

vii. Public Grievances Appeals disposed – 34
