The Sports Authority of India (SAI), Regional Centre, Gandhinagar, organised the 96th edition of Fit India – Sundays on Cycle at the iconic Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad, on Sunday. With Cyber Security as the central theme, the event promoted cycling, physical fitness, cyber security awareness, inclusivity and community participation.

Mrs. Geeta Rao, Team India para-cyclist, graced the event as the Special Guest. Ms. Nisha Kumari, Everester and Fit India Brand Ambassador, also participated, inspiring attendees to embrace fitness, resilience and an active lifestyle.

Organised in collaboration with the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA), the cycling rally was flagged off from Gate No. 1 of Narendra Modi Stadium and concluded at the Decathlon Sports campus. A large number of enthusiastic young participants took part in the event and covered approximately 3.5 kilometres, spreading the message of fitness, inclusivity and cyber security awareness.

The programme began with an energetic Zumba session, followed by a range of recreational and sporting activities, including chess, foosball, Ludo, badminton, volleyball and more. These activities offered participants an opportunity to combine fitness with recreation, interaction and community engagement.

As part of the ongoing Fit India Movement, a dedicated Fit India Games Zone was also set up, where participants enthusiastically took part in traditional Indian games. The initiative encouraged people to reconnect with India’s rich sporting heritage while promoting physical activity, teamwork, coordination and healthy competition.

The event reinforced the Fit India Movement’s message, “Fitness Ka Dose, Aadha Ghanta Roz”, encouraging citizens to dedicate at least 30 minutes every day to physical activity and make fitness an integral part of their daily routine. The Cyber Security theme also highlighted the importance of staying alert and responsible in the digital world.

The 96th edition of Fit India – Sundays on Cycle brought cycling, traditional Indian games and public awareness together on a common platform, reinforcing the importance of a healthy lifestyle, regular physical activity, inclusivity and cyber safety.
