Number of Women Benefited Under PMMVY

The Ministry of Women and Child Development implements Centrally Sponsored Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) with effect from 01.01.2017. Maternity benefits amounting to Rs.5931.95 crores (including Central and State share) have been paid to 1.75 crores eligible beneficiaries during the last three financial years i.e. 2017-18, 2018-19 and 2019-20. Further, maternity benefits amounting to Rs.2063.70 crores (including Central and State share) have been paid to 65.12 lakh eligible beneficiaries during the current financial year of 2020-21 (as on 29.01.2021).
- provisions for the Scheme are made as per the requirement based on the number of beneficiaries. The Budget Estimate (BE) under PMMVY for the current financial year 2020-21 is Rs.2500.00 crores.
This information was given by the Minister of Women and Child Development, Smt. Smriti Zubin Irani, in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.
