IIT Kharagpur is delighted to have its 67th Convocation on December 18, 2021. Shri Dharmendra Pradhan, the union Minister of Education, will grace the occasion as the Chief Guest. Shri Sanjiv Goenka, Chairman, Board of Governors, IIT Kharagpur will also honour  with his presence.

For the first time ever, IIT Kharagpur is proud to bestow a Lifetime Achievement Award to Professor M A Ramlu who served as the founder Head of the Department of Mining Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT). He rose to higher positions and retired as Officiating Director of IIT Kharagpur.

Five awardees will also be conferred the Life Fellow Awards of IIT Kharagpur 2021. Professor Sadhan Kumar De, Former Head of Rubber Technology Centre & Dean of Post-Graduate studies in IIT Kharagpur, Professor Biswa Nath Chatterjee, a former Professor in E&ECE Department, IIT Kharagpur and presently the Professor & Academic Advisor of B.P. Poddar Institute of Management & Technology, Shri Puran Chand Dang founder of the first IIT Alumni Society of the world (IIT-SINE), Shri Gopal Rajgarhia, a chemical engineer and an accomplished industrialist and Dr. Asoke Kumar Deysarkar, a PHD in Chemical Engineering and successful entrepreneur and owner of ‘Products for People’ in Houston, are the recipients of this honour.

The Institute is also going to honour its pioneers with the Disguised Alumnus Award 2021 which includes Professor Suresh Chandra Mishra, the Chairman of Naval Research Board at DRDO, Commander V K Jaitly, a motivational speaker and consultant who led the technological modernization in Indian Defence Forces, Dr. Mohan Rao, a Food Process Engineering Expert & Chief Science Officer, Rainos Consulting USA, Shri Krishan Mohan Khanna, the Chairman and Founder of i-Watch think tank & foundation who has worked with Niti Aayog and the Ministry of Agriculture and Dr. Mukund Padmanabhan, the President and Founder of Guru Krupa Foundation & a topflight researcher at University of California, Los Angeles.

The graduating batch of 2021 comprising B. Tech, M. Tech and PHD students will be honoured with gold and silver medals along with respective degrees for their excellent achievements and accomplishments.
