Screening of documentaries by Films Division to mark  125th Birth Anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose

Films Division is paying tribute to  Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, a  true icon of patriotism and  a great freedom fighter,  on his 125th birth anniversary on 23 January, 2022 by screening two documentaries on his  life,  indomitable spirit and selfless service to the nation. The special screening marks the  year-long celebration of  Netaji’s quasquicentennial  as a part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebration by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India.  The biopics will be streamed on Films Division website and YouTube Channel, for 24 hours.

The films being screened are:  The Flame Burns Bright (1973/Ashis Mukherjee) and Netaji (1973/Arun Chaudhuri)  which highlight  the great leader’s life and his heroic and relentless fight for India’s independence from the  British rule. The film Netaji uses the actual speeches of Netaji, synched with his voice.
