National Voters Day celebrated by Chief Electoral Office, Goa


Governor inaugurates Photo Exhibition by Field Outreach Bureau on the occasion of National Voters Day

Goa, January 25, 2022

Governor Shri  P.S.Sreedharan Pillai graced the National Voters Day programme today. ‘My Vote, My Right’ a photo exhibition by Field Outreach Bureau, Goa also inaugurated on this occasion in the presence of  CEO Shri Kunal, Acting Chief Secretary Puneet Goel, State Election Commissioner Shri W.V. Ramanamurthy at Margao.

“India has a very systematic election system that makes the country a vibrant democracy. For strong democracy electoral literacy is essential”, said the Governor. Massive Voter awareness campaign by Election Commission of India and Chief Electoral Office, Goa is praiseworthy, he added.

Governor praised the initiatives of CEO Goa for inclusive elections like Braille Guide, Keeping pace with the latest technology and utter importance to adhere Covid-19 protocols on the booth.

CEO Kunal said that, theme of this year’s National Voters Day is ‘Making Elections inclusive, Accessible and Participative’. ECI also introduced a new app ‘Know Your Candidate’ to generate awareness among the voters.

On the occasion of National Voters Day, Photo Exhibition on Goa Elections has been organised by Field Outreach Bureau at Ravindra Bhawan, Margao. The exhibition highlights the rare photo collection by the Election Commission of India.

Field Outreach Bureau has also organised ‘Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation Program (SVEEP) across the state.  Four cultural troupes will perform ‘SVEEP ‘programs at over 50 locations with a special focus on lower voter turnout areas from 26th January to 12th February.
