Shri M. Venkatesan, Hon’ble Chairman of National Commission for Safai Karamcharis, undertook a visit to NPCIL Madras Atomic Power Station (MAPS) at Kalpakkam on 26.03.2022, to review the Implementation of “The Prohibition of Employment as manual Scavenger and their Rehabilitation Act, 2013”.

       On his arrival at MAPS, he was welcomed by Shri M. Balarama Murthy, Station Director.

     He held discussions with the MAPS management and also interacted with the housekeeping staff on implementation of various social security compliances such as payment of wages, provident fund and employee compensation policy etc., He also advised MAPS management to apprise the contractor workers on various facilities available under  labour welfare schemes such as  Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance, PM Bhima  Yojana Insurance, etc.

     He was also briefed about the safe operation of the nuclear power stations across India and  various developmental activities undertaken by MAPS under CSR.

     Shri. M. Chenthamarakshan, Chief Superintendent and other senior officials from MAPS were present in the meeting.
