Renewable energy in North Eastern Region

The renewable energy potential in North Eastern Region (NER) from different sources is estimated to be 1,28,962 MW. As against this, 4,834.58 MW renewable capacity has been installed in NER. The details are given in Table-1 and Table-2 below:-

Ministry of New and Renewable Energy is targeting achieving 500 GW of installed electricity capacity from non-fossil fuel sources by 2030 for the whole country, including NE states.
This information was given by the Minister for Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Shri G. Kishan Reddy in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha today.
