The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, chaired by Shri. Sudip Bandhopadhyay, Hon’ Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) held an informal discussion with the Senior Officials of the Western Regional Offices of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and National Test House (NTH) at Mumbai today. Thirteen other Members of Parliament also participated in the meeting as part of the committee.

Shri. Pramod Kumar Tiwari, Director General, BIS and Smt. Nishat S Haque, Deputy Director General, BIS -Western Region attended the meeting with other senior Officials of BIS, and held detailed discussions on various activities being carried out by BIS in the region and efforts being made to protect the interests of consumers.

Shri. Dilip Gwra Basumatary, Director, NTH – Western Region, attended the meeting with other senior Officials of NTH and presented to the Committee, the various activities being carried out by NTH to support the quality ecosystem of the country.
