International Museum Day celebrated by Archaeological Museum of Goa

Archaeological Museum of Goa, Government of India today celebrated International Museum Day at Velha Goa. School students from Old Goa, Corlim and Karmali visited the museum. Shri Hemasagar A Naik, Superintendent of Museum; Dr Kishore Raghubans, Assistant Superintendent of Museum present on the occasion.

Dr Kishore Raghubans, Assistant Superintendent of Museum briefed the students about the museum. He said, Museums are like books, we understand our culture and heritage as we read more about it. Our museums offer a portrait to our rich past, art, culture, architecture and traditions. He appealed to school students to visit various museums and get knowledge.  

International Museum Day is celebrated to create awareness among the people especially among the children and to highlight the significance of museums. This year as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ International Museum day is celebrated with the theme ‘Power of Museums’.
