The Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) are mandated for technology assessment and demonstration for its application and capacity development. KVKs organize training for farmers and extension personnel on organic agriculture including production and use of organic inputs. The KVKs organized 4687 such training programmes with participation of 1.37 lakh farmers and extension personnel during last three years.

KVKs of Sikkim State are organizing all its activities on organic agriculture as the Sikkim Government has declared it as Organic State.

This information was given by the Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Narendra Singh Tomar in a written reply in Lok Sabha today.
