For someone who is an Air Force Officer’s child, frequent change of place is not uncommon during schooling days.

Same was true for Union Minister of State for Electronics & IT and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar who had studied in nine different schools.

“I went to nine schools till grade 12—all Kendriya Vidyalayas. And I am proud of my Indian School education. KVs emphasised on imparting Indian values and that lay the foundation for what I am today,” he said, adding that he would not like to ever exchange that for education at the best private school of the country.

And now the Indian School System has further been strengthened in the new National Education Policy of the Narendra Modi government which has brought about deep, impactful reforms in the education sector, he stressed.

He was speaking with students at a fireside chat at the Sardar Patel National Institute of Technology.

Union Minister of State for Electronics & IT and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar today denounced the culture of freebies and dole-outs being promoted by certain opposition parties in the country.

He said, “Our country is on the rise and our Prime Minister has set a benchmark in terms of governance, public life and public service and has zero tolerance towards corruption. As the political opponents do not have a compelling idea to transform our economy, to make India a superpower, they come up with offers of free handouts.”

Mr Chandrasekhar was speaking with students at a fireside chat at the Sardar Patel National Institute of Technology, Surat.

Stating that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has changed the definition of politics, he said it is not about power but public service—those who serve and earn the trust of people will succeed. “He has a large of vision of New India that will have equitable opportunities—it would no more be exclusive for those with famous fathers/ grandfathers,” he explained.

Speaking about opportunities for the young students/professionals in the present time, he said the Government’s goal was to strengthen the semiconductor ecosystem to ensure that it in turn helps India become a significant design and manufacturing hub for Electronics.
