Free Awareness Camp and Fitment Services for Deafness and Hearing Loss at Father Muller Medical College in Mangalore

: Mumbai, September 25, 2022

Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for the Speech and Hearing Disabilities [AYJNISHD(D)], under the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment is organizing a three-day Awareness Camp and Diagnostic and Fitment Services for Deafness and Hearing loss in Mangalore from tomorrow.

It will be held at Father Muller Medical College Kankanadi,  district from  9.30 am to 5 pm.

Free Hearing Aid (BTE) will be provided in this camp under ADIP scheme of Govt of India.

This camp is being organized in collaboration with Father Muller’s Medical College as part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations to mark India's 75th Independence Day. Its objective is to help the deaf to become aware of the deaf culture and identity and to spread awareness about the Central Government's schemes and programs for the differently-abled.

It is mandatory to bring the following for Free Hearing Aids (BTE) under the government scheme.

1. Two recent photographs. (Passport Size)

2. Copy of Aadhaar Card

3. Copy of recent family income certificate (less than Rs. 22,500 per month) or copy of BPL ration card

4. Copy of Hearing Disability Certificate (issued by District Government Medical Board)

Identified Deaf and differently-abled persons must not have received hearing aid under the government's ADIP scheme in the last three years.
