The Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions, Government of India has launched a nation-wide campaign for promotion of Digital Life Certificate through Face Authentication for Central Government pensioners. In this series a campaign was conducted at SBI, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Road, Kingsway, Nagpur branch  for the Central Government pensioners on November 11, 2022. Digital Life Certificate- Face Authentication of the pensioners was done in this campaign. Deputy Secretary , Department of Pension & Pensioners’ Welfare, Rameshchandra Sethi, Advisor of this Department Harjit Singh, Nodal Officer of SBI-Nagpur Subroto Mukherji gave the valuable guidance to the pensioners about this process during the campaign.

The pensioner participated enthusiastically in this campaign and expressed satisfaction and pleasure  for introducing the new technology and the guidance given to them. These pensioners were guided by the Department officials how to download the Face Authentication Jeevan Pramaan App in their mobile phones and give Life Certificate from their phones. A  link is  sent on the mobile phone of the pensioner to download the Life certificate and it is generated within 60 seconds and it can be downloaded from the link.

The Face Authentication Technology was launched in by Dr. Jitendra Singh,  Union Minister of State  of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions in November 2021.  All the registered Pensioners Associations, Pension Disbursing Banks, Ministries of Government of India and CGHS  wellness Centres have been directed to promote the Digital Life Certificate/Face Authentication Technique for giving Life Certificate by organizing special camps for ‘Ease of Living’ of pensioners.

Before the launching of this digital process the aged pensioners had to queue up for hours outside banks  to give Life Certificate in physical form.  But now, the same has been made possible at the click of a button from the comfort of their home.

In the process of submission of Life Certificate through Face Authentication by mobile, details regarding Aadhar Number, Mobile Number for OTP, PPO Number, Account Number with Bank/Post Office are required only for the first time. This facility is also available for State Government Employees and having Disbursing Authority as Treasury Office of the State. Representatives of Pensioners Association and State Bank of India, UIDI were also present on the occasion. The department is running the campaign throughout the month of November to submit the life certificate through face authentication.
