CSIR-National Institute of Oceanography (CSIR-NIO) and Foundation for Neglected Disease Research (FNDR), Bengaluru, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 10^th February 2023 to develop a long-term collaboration in the areas of “Marine natural product drug discovery”.

The MoU was signed Prof. Sunil Kumar Singh, Director, CSIR-NIO and Dr. Shridhar Narayanan, CEO, FNDR in the presence of, Dr. V.V. Sanil Kumar, Head Business Development Group, Dr. Narsinh .L. Thakur, Head Chemical Oceanography Division and Shri. Venkat Krishnamurthy, Collaborations Desk, of CSIR-NIO.

CSIR-NIO by virtue of its focused research in the field of marine natural product chemistry & bioprospecting is developing marine natural product repository under “Marine Bioprospecting” R&D project, funded by CSIR. FNDR is involved in the screening of marine natural product repositories being developed by CSIR-NIO. This MoU will now facilitate a roadmap for further meaningful interactions that is drawn on mutual strengths of the two organizations in the domain of marine natural product drug discovery.
