Bureau of Indian Standards is a statutory body functioning under the aegis of Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Government of India. It operates various schemes like Product Certification (ISI mark), Management Systems Certification, Hall Marking of Gold and Silver Jewellery/Artefacts and Laboratory Services for the benefit of the industry and in turn aiming at consumer protection.

Bureau of Indian Standards, Chennai Branch Office  (CNBO ) has conducted Jeweller awareness programme  on 11 March 2023. The training/awareness programme was organized at Vantage hall, Chennai  and was attended by 82 participants.

Shri  H.M. Sultan Mohideen, president of Chennai Jewellers Association,  delivered the welcome address. Smt. G. Bhavani, Scientist-E/Director and Head(Chennai Branch Office)proposed the inaugural address and programme objectives. The technical presentation was made by Shri Dhinesh Rajagopalan , Scientist – C/Deputy Director .

 

Participants appreciated the BIS initiative on Jewellers Awareness meet. The Programme ended with vote of thanks  by Shri Dhinesh Rajagopalan , Scientist - C, Deputy Director.
