Multimedia exhibition in Kolhapur concludes with a cultural program


Workshops for Women Entrepreneurs, Legal Literacy and Career Counselling draw big crowds

Multimedia exhibition arranged by Central Bureau of communication along with Press Information Bureau Mumbai office concluded today with a special cultural program involving Powada by shahir Rangrao Patil.

The 5-day event saw huge turn-up of visitors who gave rave reviews for the exhibition.

On the first day of exhibition, in the inaugural session, a financial and digital literacy workshop was conducted by Aparna Sawant, Program Director, Mann Deshi Foundation. Mann Deshi Foundation works for economic upliftment of marginalised women. The workshop by Mann Deshi Foundation involved hands on training in basics of savings and banking, experience sharing by women entrepreneurs and visit to their exhibition cum training bus. The book stall arranged by Publication Division on this occasion, drew a large crowd of bookworms.

The Exhibition was open to public for five days between 8th March and 12th March 2023 between 11:00 am to 8:00 pm at Rankala Lake Garden opposite Shalini Palace. The Exhibition aimed to provide inspiration to viewers by showcasing information on successful Indian women from across fields such as freedom fighters, scientists, entrepreneurs etc. Various components of the exhibition also gave information on government schemes for the welfare of women. The exhibition was rich in multimedia components featuring experiences like Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, Digital Quizzes etc.

Senior lawyer, Dr. Santosh Shah addressed a training session on 9th March to educate women on legal literacy, especially on basics of inheritance and property laws.

On the second day of the exhibition, renowned senior lawyer, Dr. Santosh Shah conducted a session on basics of property and inheritance law. The session saw participation from more than hundred women belong to marginalized sections of the society. In the session the women were explained basic rights they have in property and how inheritance takes place on death of a person. Importance of making a will and procedure thereof was explained in simple terms. The session also touched upon  constitutional provision for protection of women and laws such as POSH. In this interactive session various doubts the women had  relating to their rights in agricultural land to laws regarding functioning of SHGs were explained by the guest. Overall the session provided an opportunity for women to understand how they can claim their rights in family and self made property in an effective manner.

On 11th March, Poonam Dhoble from Eklavya gave students Career tips and opened vista of career opportunities for them. She intereacted with girl students and made them aware about many career opportunities outside well known 3-4 fields of career. To watch this session online please click here.

The exhibition ended today with Powada programme performed by Shri Rangrao Patil which enthralled the audience and created awareness about Women-led development.
