Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs and Sports Shri. Anurag Singh Thakur’s interaction held at Chikaballapur

Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting and Youth Affairs and Sports Shri. Anurag Singh Thakur called the youth to utilise the available sports facilities in the country and give their best to the country. The Minister said this during the interaction with sports persons, Athletes, Coaches held at Chikaballapur, today.

 

 

The Minister said that discussions will be held with state government and other stakeholders to formulate a roadmap for athletics  in the country. Highlighting the budget allocated for Youth Affairs and Sports Ministry, he said that during 2023-2024, Rs.3397crore is allocated this will be utilised for the overall development and encouragement of sports activities, he added.

 

During the covid pandemic our traditional medicines like Ayurveda and practices like Yoga had helped many people to maintain a healthy mind and body. The Minister said that sports is the only activity which will help maintain a healthy body and mind, also called the youth to actively participate in sports activities. Replying to a question of starting yoga in the educational Institutions, he said everyone should be proud of our traditional yoga which is now being celebrated as “International Yoga day” all over the world on June 21. The Minister highlighted the success of the Khelo India university games and called the athletes to participate and showcase their talent. The Minister said that measures will be taken to provide facilities for the overall development of the sports activities in India.
