Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya inaugurates CGHS Wellness Centre at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar


CGHS provides health care facilities to 15 Lakh primary card holders and more than 42 Lakh beneficiaries through a network of 338 Allopathic Wellness Centres and 103 Ayush Units

Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya virtually inaugurated the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) Wellness Centre at Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar today. The centre is expected to cater to the needs of Central Government employees and pensioners not only in the city but the nearby regions of Marathwada. Also present at the event were Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, Union Minister of State for Finance Dr. Bhagwat Karad and other eminent dignitaries from Union and State Governments.

Addressing the event virtually, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya said the Union Government is committed to providing good Health Care facilities to Central Government employees and Pensioners and their dependents. He noted that Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar would be the 79th city to be covered by CGHS Wellness Centres. “Health is the highest virtue, investing in Healthcare is investing in India's future" is the motto that drives the Union Ministry of Health & Family Welfare said the Minister.

In its endeavor to create a healthy and prosperous India for all, the Ministry’s interventions have ensured that CGHS provides health care facilities to 15 Lakh primary card holders and more than 42 Lakh beneficiaries through a network of 338 Allopathic Wellness Centres and 103 Ayush Units. “India is following token to total approach by not only opening Health & Wellness Centres by also ensuring increased number of medical professionals and enhancing their training through more medical colleges in the country”, added the Union Minister.

Union Minister of State for Health & Family Welfare Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar who also addressed virtually said the inauguration of the CGHS Wellness Centre represents the fulfilment of a long-cherished demand of the employees and pensioners in the region. She further informed that CGHS shall be empaneling Private Hospitals under CGHS for treatment with a special emphasis on inpatient treatment.

Union Minister of State for Finance, Dr. Bhagwat Karad extended his gratitude to the Union Government for making the dream of a CGHS Centre in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar a reality. Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, the country is making huge strides in the field of Health & Wellness, said the Union Minister.

Central Government Health Scheme provides comprehensive health care to Central Government employees and pensioners and their dependents. Government of India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken several measures to further improve the facilities under CGHS. Expansion of coverage under CGHS to 79 cities and 338 Allopathic Wellness Centres represents one such illustration of the progress made under CGHS.
