The Department of Sociology, RGNIYD organized its 1st National Conference on Youth and Wellbeing during 28-29 March 2023 (online). The aim of the Conference was to deliberate on the concerns, issues, challenges, and opportunities concerning Youth and Wellbeing covering various sub-themes related to youth such as, Youth and Health; Youth and Education; Youth, Crime and Delinquency; Youth, Decent Jobs and Entrepreneurship; Youth Culture and Social Identity; Youth Wellbeing: Indian Perspective.

The Conference was inaugurated by Prof. Sibnath Deb, Director, RGNIYD who also released the eBook of Abstracts. Prof. Sanghamita Sheel Acharya, Chairperson, Centre for Social Medicine and Community Health, School of Social Sciences JNU, New Delhi delivered the presidential address.

Around thirty research papers/ articles were presented by academicians, researchers, practitioners and students from various research institutions, universities and colleges in the Conference. The Conference concluded with the valedictory address by Dr. M. Thamilarasan, Professor and Head, Department of Sociology, University of Madras. Nearly 100 academicians, research scholars, practitioners and students participated and presented research papers/articles
