*TRIFED* on behalf of Ministry of Tribal Affairs are organized a *'Tribal Artisian empanelment Mela'* *(TAeM)* on 24.07.23 at Kolli Hills Lamp Society, Namakkal district for empanelment of Tribal artisians in the district, to showcase their products for empanelment with TRIFED, thus assisting them in having their product reach a wider customer base, improving their socio-economic status in the process.

 

The belt of Kolli hills has a native demography of Malayali tribes.

 

With assistance of the Namakkal district administration and number of local NGOs, working in the region there was a strong strength of tribal population which was energized and arrived at the venue of Kolli Hills Lamp Society for registering themselves as producer of various handicrafts and organic products as part of the empanelment program at Kolli hills

 

A strong strength of artisians including self-help groups of tribals and individual artisians were registered during the daylong event leading to a successful culmination of the program at Kolli hills. At Kolli hills, the Tribal Artisian Empanelment Mela is being organised to cater for the extensive tribal population in the adjoining areas. The effort of TRIFED alongwith the local district administration is a heartening perspective in assisting to enrich the lives of tribal artisians in the region.

 

Meanwhile *(TAeM)* on 21.07.23 at Yercaud Lamp Society,Yercaud, Salem district for empanelment of Tribal artisians in the district, to showcase their products for empanelment with TRIFED, thus assisting them in having their product reach a wider customer base, improving their socio-economic status in the process.
