To celebrate the 3^rd Anniversary of NEP 2020 implementation a press conference was held at Kendriya Vidyalaya Sabarmati. In which Shri Avijit Panda, Principal, KV Sabarmati, Shri R K Dixit, Principal JNV Ahmedabad , Shri Ashok Rathi, Principal, KV ONGC Chandkheda briefed about the achievements made under NEP 2020 during these 3 years.

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is an autonomous body under ministry of Education. At present there are 1253 Kendriya Vidyalayas which cater to the educational need of more than 14 lakh students. In Ahmedabad Region 40,000 students are studying in 48 KVs.  Since inception of NEP 2020 KVS Ahmedabad Region is putting it’s best effort to implement it. As desired in NEP, Re-alignment of age of admission is done in class I to 06 years and Balvatika has been introduced in 20 KVs of Gujarat till date. Students are welcomed whole heartedly as a mark of Vidyapravesh on first day of school and a 12 weeks module to bolster a child’s pre-literacy, pre-numeracy, cognitive and social skills is adapted. All schools are following vocational/skill subjects under bag less days scheme wherein students are getting hands on experience on pottery, carpentry etc. and under PM KVY 3.0. 14 KVs of Gujrat have established skill hubs.

Through a web based application NIPUN lakshyas are being monitored in all KVs up to class III. 100% teachers of KVs under Ahmedabad Region are trained under Nishtha Courses on Diksha Portal and resource like Jadui Pitara is being used in our schools.  3 Kendriya Vidyalayas of Ahmedabad district are selected as PM Shri School. Moreover, Balvatika 3 is opened in 4  Kendriya Vidyalayas of Ahmedabad district from 2023-24.
