Special guests from various walks of life invited to attend the Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi

Around 1,800 special invitees from all over India will be attending the Independence Day Flag hoisting by the Prime Minister of India at the Red Fort on 15th August this year.

As India completes 75 years of Independence this year,  sarpanchs of Vibrant villages, teachers,  nurses, farmers, fisherman,  shram yogis who helped build the Central Vista Project in New Delhi, khadi sector workers, national award winning school teachers, Border Roads Organisation workers and those who helped and worked for the Amrit Sarovar Projects and Har Ghar Jal Yojana Projects,  implemented in various parts of the country,  have been invited along with their spouse to attend the Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi this year.

Four beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, hailing from the state of Maharashtra, will witness the Independence Day celebrations at the historic Red Fort. Fifty (50) beneficiaries of the scheme, along with their families, are among around 1,800 persons who have been invited to listen to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s address to the nation. The initiative to invite the people from all walks of life, across India, and be a part of the celebrations has been taken by the Government in line with its vision of ‘Jan Bhagidari’.

Akshay Uike, one of the Special Invitees, is a resident of Chatgaon, district of Gadchiroli. He owns a home run business of selling traditional bamboo artifacts which earn him around Rs. 300 daily. Shri Uike, lauded the Government’s initiative and stated that being invited to New Delhi for the Independence Day celebrations as a Special Invitee is one amongst the biggest events in his life. He is overwhelmed and grateful to the Prime Minister as well as the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development and Facilitation Office, Nagpur, for extending an invitation to him.

Shubham Satpute, another Special Invitee of the MSME Ministry, who hails from Kolhapur in Maharashtra, appreciated the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana stating, “I have pursued an invaluable course offered by the Department of MSME, which was facilitated by the prestigious Central Footwear Training Institute in Chennai. This government initiative has played a pivotal role in reshaping my approach to Kolhapuri Chappals. By integrating modern features like memory foams, a vibrant spectrum of colors, and slip-resistant soles, I have successfully modernized and reinvigorated the traditional craftsmanship while staying true to the legacy of Kolhapuri Chappals.”

The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana was launched with the aim to impart skill development training to prospective youth of the country.
