Directorate of Income-tax (Intelligence & Criminal Investigation), Tamilnadu & Puducherry has conducted an Awareness Programme at 121, Aayakar Bhavan Auditorium, Income-tax Office, Nungambakkam on 11-10-2023 from 10.30 AM to 1.00 PM for Co-operative Banks and Co-operative Societies, being Reporting Entities of Statement of Financial Transactions in Form 61, 61A and 61B on the topic “e-Verification and Compliance Management”. Shri. N. Ravi Babu, I.R.S,  Director of Income-tax (I&CI) gave inaugural speech.  Smt. Pavuna Sundari, E. I.R.S, Addl. Director of Income-tax (I&CI), Chennai explained about the e-Verification Scheme, 2021 and the consequences of non-compliance by the Reporting Entities. Smt. K. Dharani, I.R.S. Asst. Director of Income-tax, (I&CI) explained the provisions of Sec.80P of the I.T Act for claiming deduction by Co-operative Societies. This was followed by a session by Shri. S. Subramanian, ITO, (I&C) on filing of Form 61 (non-PAN cases) and 61A(Statement of Financial Transaction). Shri. K. Prasad, IRS, Deputy Director of Income-tax, (I&CI) explained about filing of Form-61B (Statement of Reportable Account) for foreign transactions. More than 150 Reporting entities attended the awareness programme and the doubts raised by them were clarified.

          The outreach programme was well received and more such programmes are being planned by the I&CI Directorate all over Tamilnadu and Puducherry.
