Celebration of Vigilance Awareness Week -2023
Valedictory function in V.O.Chidambaranar Port Authority

The valedictory function of Vigilance Awareness Week – 2023 was held at V.O.Chidambaranar Port Authority on 10th November, 2023.
Shri. S. Muralikrishnan, IDAS, Chief Vigilance Officer, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the system improvements carried out in the Port for ensuring transparency in Port operations. He also highlighted this year’s theme ‘Say no to corruption; commit to the Nation’ to the gathering and stated that Vigilance Awareness Week fosters a culture of integrity, transparency, and ethical behavior within our organization and the community at large.
The Chief Guest of the function, Shri G.Kalaimani, Superintendent of Police, anti Corruption Branch / CBI, Madurai, in his address stated that cultivating a culture of vigilance would inspire individuals to become ambassadors of integrity and contribute towards success of the organization’s growth.
Shri Bimal Kumar Jha, Chairperson (I/C), V.O.Chidambaranar Port Authority, in his inspiring address, stated that it is the duty of every Parent & teacher to inculcate moral values, integrity and ethics of public life to children. He also exhorted the employees of VOC Port to adopt fair means & due processes in personal & official conduct and bring probity in public and private life. He also stressed the importance for intellectual integrity and emphasized that employees should be vigilant in the performance of their day- to-day duties. He added that V.O.C. Port is also on a rapid path of progress and poised to became a smart and sustainable hub Port in the near future.
During the week long Vigilance Awareness Week celebration from 30th October to 5th November, 2023, under the theme ‘Say no to corruption; commit to the Nation’, Skit, Essay writing, Slogan writing, Debate, Singing, Dance and Steet Play competitions were conducted for the employees, School children and College Students. Sensitization seminars for Contractors, Vendors and Officers & Employees of the Port & street play for general Public, highlighting ‘Awareness building programmes on Public Interest Disclosure and Protection of Informers (PIDPI)’ were also organized.
Shri G.Kalaimani, Superintendent of Police, Anti Corruption Branch / CBI, Madurai, distributed the prizes to the winners of various competitions. Heads of department, senior officers and employees of the Port, teachers and students of various schools attended the function in large numbers.
