Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India Ltd (TRIFED), under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India, is organizing a Tribal Artisan Empanelment Mela (TAeM) at Madgaon, South Goa, tomorrow, 14 December, 2023. The mela will be held at the office of the Deputy Director, Tribal Welfare, Second Floor, Opposite Municipal Garden, Madgaon, from 11 AM.

The event aims to provide a platform for talented tribal artisans to be empanelled and recognized for their exceptional craftsmanship. Tribal communities from diverse backgrounds are invited to participate and showcase their extraordinary artistry, unique traditions, and remarkable skills. The empanelment process will facilitate enduring support, market access, and opportunities for collaborations with designers, exporters, and stakeholders in the handicraft sector.

Empanelment in TAeM offers substantial support to tribal artisans as it will assist them in improving their ethnic products through enhanced designs and skill development training programs. It also provides them with direct exposure to external markets through various festivals across the country. TAeM events pave the way for local artisans to gain significant exposure in national and international marketing linkages through various online and offline modes.

The TAeM will showcase a breathtaking array of tribal art forms, including hand-woven textiles, intricate jewelry, sublime woodwork, exquisite pottery, and mesmerizing paintings. Each masterpiece reflects the distinctive identity and cultural tapestry of the tribes, narrating captivating tales of artistic virtuosity.
