Union Minister of Commerce & Industry Shri. Piyush Goyal led a cleanliness drive held at a Ram Temple at Andheri East in Mumbai. The Union Minister undertook the cleanliness drive in response to the clarion call by Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi to clean pilgrimage sites in the run up to the ‘Pran Pratishtha' day in Ayodhya.

Speaking at the event, Union Minister Shri. Piyush Goyal reminded those gathered, of the Prime Minister’s call to clean places of worship. He noted how the Prime Minister himself had taken part in a cleanliness drive in Nashik with a sense of duty and responsibility. He urged that every citizen of the country follows suit and cleans pilgrimage sites with the same commitment displayed by the Prime Minister.

The Minister also took the opportunity to warn countrymen about the menace of plastics and plastic pollution. He observed that cleanliness is a social responsibility that every citizen must strive to fulfil. Union Minister Piyush Goyal further pointed out that it is the vision of the Prime Minister that every pilgrimage site in the country be cleaned and efforts be put in to ensure that they remain clean.
