Week long Faculty Development Programme at NIT Trichy will begin on 22, January 2024

The Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, National
Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli, in collaboration with the
UNESCO Chair in Vulnerability Studies, University of Hyderabad is
organising a one-week Online Faculty Development Programme titled
‘Reading and Researching the Literature of Crisis’, from 22nd to 28th
January 2024.
The program aims to help the participants identify key concepts in
Vulnerability Studies and comprehend literary works that scrutinize
human, nonhuman, and planetary vulnerabilities. Faculty members and
researchers may apply for the programme.
The programme will be inaugurated by Ms. Eunsong Kim, Chief, Social &
Human Sciences Unit UNESCO Regional Office, New Delhi in the presence
of Prof. G. Aghila, the Director, NIT Tiruchirappalli, Prof. B.J. Rao,
Vice Chancellor, University of Hyderabad. Mr. Tim Curtis, Director &
UNESCO Representative UNESCO Regional Office, New Delhi will also
deliver introductory remarks.
The programme commences with the sessions by Prof. Pramod K. Nayar,
the UNESCO Chair in Vulnerability Studies. The sessions on the
following days will be handled by Dr Saradindu Bhattacharya, Dr Anna
Kurian of the University of Hyderabad, Dr Sarah Falcus (The University
of Huddersfield, UK), Dr Maria Porras Sanchez (Complutense University
of Madrid, Spain) Dr. Swarnalatha Rangarajan (IIT Madras) and Dr.
Meenakshi Srihari, Sai University.
Dr. V.K. Karthika of NIT Trichy, Prof. Pramod K. Nayar and Prof. Anna
Kurian of the University of Hyderabad are the convenors of the
programme. The registration closes on the 20th of January. The
participants will be provided with E-certificates.
