Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB) is hosting a three-day bilateral meeting from March 05-07, 2024 at its headquarters in Mumbai under the existing technical cooperation arrangement with Nuclear Safety Authority – ASN, France.

The French delegation is led by Mr. Bernard DOROSZCZUK, Chairman, ASN and comprises of two esteemed Commissioners and four high ranking officials from ASN. The meeting is a step in the direction of strengthening the bilateral ties between AERB and ASN. “The visit of ASN signifies our shared commitment to strengthening the bonds between the two regulators and advancing collaboration in nuclear safety regulations”, said Mr. Dinesh Kumar Shukla, Chairman, AERB.

The technical cooperation areas identified for information sharing ranges from long term operation of ageing nuclear power plants to regulation of new and advanced technologies including Small Modular Reactors. A special session on the regulatory research conducted by AERB to support of its regulatory activities’ has been arranged. A site visit of the ASN delegation to Tarapur site is planned during the three-day bilateral meeting. 

AERB has been engaging with ASN as part of its international cooperation activities since July 1999.
