Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Narayan Rane Inaugurates Multi-purpose exhibition and convention center at Sakinaka in Mumbai

The Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Narayan Rane inaugurated the multi-purpose exhibition and convention center at Sakinaka in Mumbai today. The Minister also inaugurated Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Facilitation Branch office of Pune, through video conferencing on this occasion.

On the backgrounds of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for India to reach the third position in the global economy by 2030 Shri Narayan Rane has called for the officers and entrepreneurs of this department to keep striving. He called Mumbai as a world class city. Although Mumbai is well known for tourism, the progress of industry in the country is known by virtue of Mumbai, Shri Rane acclaimed. Mumbai being the financial capital of the country Shri Rane said that since we are building this center in Mumbai, it should carry a convention center of that stature, a building of that status needs to be built. He expressed the hope that Mumbai's turnover should reach thousands of crores through MSME. It is necessary to create big entrepreneurships in all fields. He added that anything is possible if hard work is combined with intelligence. Competition is necessary in each business. Shri Rane asked the entrepreneurs to consume time spent on transportation, thereby increasing profits.

He said that new technology has emerged in the world. Entrepreneurship and employment will tend to increase. Along with it, MSMEs need to see an increase in the GDP and exports. On this occasion, he said that MSMEs will play a crucial role in building a self-reliant India and a developed India by 2047 and appealed all the stakeholders for keep striving to achieve the same.  He said that the latest technology should be completely utilized. He informed that during his recent visit to Sindhudurga, he appreciated the work of entrepreneurs who are exporting lemon grass and bamboo based products. In his address, Shri Rane expressed the hope that new jobs will be created in Pune through the MSME Development and Facilitation office.

PM Vishwakarma program was also organized on this occasion. An exhibition of products manufactured under various sectors through MSME was also organized. About 103 stalls of PM Vishwakarma, Khadi and Village Industries Commission and Choir board have been set up alongwith 150 small and medium entrepreneurs have participated in this exhibition. A number of stalls have been allocated to Incubators, Women entrepreneurs and to SC/ST entrepreneurs. The Union Minister of MSME also felicitated the National SC ST Hub (NSSH) beneficiaries during the event. He also visited the exhibition and interacted with the entrepreneurs.

The PM Vishwakarma Scheme was launched on 17.09.2023 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This is a holistic scheme that provides end to end support to the artisans & craftspeople belonging to 18 trades. As on 07.03.2024, a total of 6,46,164 applications have been registered successfully under the scheme. Experience Centre with respect to trades covered under the scheme has also been put up in the exhibition to spread awareness for the Scheme. The Vishwakarma workshop is also organised during this event.

Secretary for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises S C L Das, Chief Executive Officer of Khadi and Village Industries Commission Vineet Kumar, Deputy Director General of Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Anuja Bapat, Chief Architect D V Raman Rao were the few other eminent personalities who attended the event.
