Hon'ble MoS Railways conducted an inspection of ongoing development works at Ashokapuram and Mysuru Railway stations

Shri V Somanna, Hon'ble Minister of State for Railways and Jal Shakti, accompanied by Shri Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wodiyar, Hon'ble Member of Parliament for Mysuru and Kodagu, conducted an inspection of the ongoing development works at Ashokapuram and Mysuru Railway stations today. The inspection was carried out in the presence of Smt. Shilpi Agarwal, Divisional Railway Manager, along with senior branch officers of Mysuru Division.

The Hon’ble Minister expressed satisfaction with the progress of the development works and assured that several trains, including the Wodiyar Express, Malgudi Express, the weekly special train to Tirupati, and other services, would be extended to Ashokapuram Railway Station starting from 15th November 2024. The station, which previously had only three platforms, now boasts three additional full-length, high-level platforms, all equipped with complete shelter. In addition, three new lines have been provided, along with a water supply system for train coaches. A spacious parking area has also been developed, complemented by a new second entry, improving connectivity for nearby localities.
With the completion of these developments and the extension of services from mid-November, the Minister noted that Mysuru Railway Station will experience reduced congestion, enhancing the passenger experience.
Following the inspection of Ashokapuram station, the Hon'ble Minister, along with the Hon'ble Member of Parliament, visited Mysuru Railway Station. They inspected the waiting halls, catering facilities on the platforms, and interacted with the station’s staff, including sweepers and porters, to understand their working conditions. The MP also reviewed the development works at Mysuru station and instructed the concerned officers to meet the deadlines for the completion of all ongoing projects within the Mysuru Division.

Later, the Hon'ble Minister, accompanied by Shri Tanveer Sait, MLA for Narasimharaja constituency, Shri G.T. Devegowda, MLA for Chamundeshwari constituency, and Shri Srivatsa, MLA for Krishnaraja constituency, conducted a review meeting with officials from Mysuru Division to discuss the progress of the development projects in the Mysuru area. The review meeting concluded with a commitment to ensure timely completion of all planned works. The Hon’ble Minister of state informed the public representatives and the Officials to a have formal review meeting regularly at the Divisional Railway Manager's Office to discuss further progress and challenges.
