Paving the Way: Shri. Tokhan Sahu Discusses Development Plan for Mahamaya Mandir Corridor in Ratanpur

Shri Tokhan Sahu, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, has reaffirmed his commitment to realising a grand vision for the Mahamaya Mandir corridor in Ratanpur, Chattisgarh. Echoing the monumental developments seen in Ayodhya, Kashi, and Mahakal, the Minister envisions a similar transformation for the eleventh-century Mahamaya Mandir.

The Minister called for a meeting with the officials of National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC), today i.e 13th September, 2024 at Nirman Bhawan. In the meeting Shri K. P. Mahadevaswamy, CMD (NBCC), Shri. R.N Shina, CGM (NBCC), along with his team were present and briefed the Hon’ble Minister about the detailed plan.

Earlier, in respect of the faith of crores of people, the Minister had put forth a demand, to build a corridor in Ratanpur, and met Union Tourism Minister, Shri Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. “Ratanpur's Mahamaya Mandir is extremely significant historically and culturally. Our goal is to develop this sacred site in a way that honours its rich history and raises its profile across the country," the Minister said.
NBCC presented a development plan for the Mahamaya Mandir corridor. To ensure that the temple's grandeur is matched by its facilities, the development plan proposes:
Comprehensive infrastructural development: Jyoti Kaksh, Bhagvat Manch, Prathana Sthal, Karyalay, Museum and so on.
Enhanced visitor amenities: hotel, shops, and increased accessibility with multiple parking areas .
The Minister's vision seeks to elevate the Mahamaya Mandir as a major spiritual destination. This initiative aims not to only preserve the temple’s historical essence but also to provide a revitalised and enriching experience for visitors. This will significantly boost the religious tourism in the state
