The Director General of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), Smt Tanu Kashyap today urged the students pursuing fashion to be more optimistic and face the crests and troughs of life with a smile as fashion is such a subject, which is directly associated with the industry. Moreover, she also urged the students to deliver the best of their abilities in the world of fashion and try to project the institute they belong to through their outfits.

Smt Kashyap was in the city today as the Chief Guest of the 2024 convocation of the institute. She also mentioned the fact that the batch that passed out this year began their journey with the institute during the Covid time, when the entire globe was experiencing a tenure of uncertainty.

This year 243 undergraduate and 31 post graduate students passed out from NIFT. Out of them, 34 belong to fashion design, 37 to textile design, 34 to knitwear design, 34 to accessory design, 32 to leather design, 37 to fashion communication, 35 to fashion technology and 31 to master of fashion management.

The Welcome address was given by Director, NIFT, Kolkata, Dr Brijesh Deore. Among the dignitaries present was Smt Sudha Dhingra, Dean, NIFT, who administered the students the pledge of the institute.
