ITEC Training Programme begins in Central Silk Board

A Four weeks Training Programme on Post Cocoon Technology has been organized by Central Silk Technological Research Institute, CSB, Bengaluru from January 8, 2025 to February 4 2025 under ITEC programme, i.e Indian Technical and Economic Programme a premier initiative of Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India. The programme was inaugurated by Shri Viraj Singh, Additional Secretary (DPA-II and IV), Ministry of External Affairs, Govt. of India. In his inaugural speech, he stressed about the objectives of ITEC and advised the trainees to make use of this programme and make sure that what the knowledge they have gained in the training programme is brought into the field.

Shri P. Sivakumar, IFS, Member Secretary, Central Silk Board in his welcome speech advised the trainees to learn about the various facets of the sericulture.

Under this programme, students are trained/exposed  in various aspects of sericulture from farm to yarn. This year 20 students from 9 countries like Uzbekistan, Philippines, Ghana, Nigeria, Tajikistan, Ethiopia and other countries are participating in the training programme. Dr. S. Manthira Moorthy, Director (Tech) and Director National Silkworm Seed Organization, Dr. S. Periyaswamy, Director, Central Silk Technological Research Institute, Bengaluru were also present on the occasion.
