Press Information Bureau, Kolkata observed the Republic Day today with dignity and honour. The two Assistant Directors of the organisation, Smt Srijata Saha Sahoo and Shri Saikat Sarkar along with the Administrative Officer, Shri Akshay Prasad Biswal unfurled the Indian Tricolour and sang the National Anthem wearing the badge in Tricolour in the shape of the country. 

The employees of the organisation and some outsiders were also present on the occasion as they joined in singing the National Anthem. 
Both the officers harped on the relevance of the Republic Day especially on the adoption of Indian Constitution in 1950 and India’s transition to a sovereign republic, highlighting values like justice, equality and fraternity. In fact, this year, India is observing its 76th Republic Day under the theme ‘Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas’, projecting India’s rich cultural legacy.
